Liturgist Resources: Call to Offering
If you would like to write your own call to offering, please feel free to do so. Otherwise, use one of these:
Always begin the Call to Offering with these words:
Let us return to God the offerings of our life and the gifts of the earth.
Then read one of the following:
- The earth is the Lord's and all that is in it, the world, and those who live in it.
- Freely you have received, freely give.
- The one who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly; the one who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.
- Give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
- Do good and share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.
- Remember the words of the Lord Jesus: It is more blessed to give than to receive.
